1. coming up with ideas in collaboration with colleagues and assessing these in terms of their ability to succeed and support your company’s goals;
2. how to test an early stage concept quickly and cheaply so you can know you are on the right track and not waste time on something that won’t work or get support from your bosses;
3. and how to test these ideas so you can develop a project that has the most impact and return on investment.
Key Learning Outcomes:
· Understand Design Thinking, Lean Start Up and Agile ways of working and learn key tools to apply to develop your projects from coming up with ideas to developing a prototype, and testing it within your business.
· Understand what a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) is and how you can develop quick prototypes of your ideas to test if they are likely to succeed
· Understand how to build a business case that considers:
o the desirability of your project to potential users (how much do people really want this?),
o its technical feasibility (can what you propose be done using technology and systems available) and
o its financial viability (can you afford to develop it and will you receive enough return to justify this investment?).
· Understand how to make your business case more robust and find support and funding from other sources.
Delivery:
3* 3-hour online sessions (A total of 9 hours), delivered via Zoom as a mix of teaching and online workshop facilitation and tools to apply within the workplace.
