SES Water (based in Redhill) are seeking to work with the broader industry to improve the efficiency of reinstatement .
The process is presently very complex involving three site visits and often meaning repeat disruptions to traffic over a period of months.
There are many stakeholders and processes involved from preliminary issue evaluations to licensing and commissioning works, materials and equipment selection and operational delivery of different repair streetworks services.

Preventing Bursts
The leakage reduction team at South East Water is looking for ways to improve prevention of bursts on their distribution mains using their existing data.
Using historical data, the hackathon provides an opportunity for interested parties and potential vendors to develop and demonstrate new analysis models and tools for identifying and prioritising leakage events and new approaches to distribution main leakage management, with focus on identifying and prioritising 7-day and 60-day targets before mains failure.
With over 60 analysts participating, the event was a great success
