Future SMART 2:
Exploring different smart water meter deployment and service strategies
Future SMART 2:
Exploring different smart water meter deployment and service strategies
We hear a lot of different propositions and suggested ‘best’ approaches to modelling services and managing delivery of smart meters in the UK.
There are diverse options from near to traditional operations to new service models that are disruptive and potentially could change the shape of water companies!
Future Smart 2 was a FREE to attend one day event (ideaLAB™) asking the question….What are the real options for smart meter deployment; and realistically what models are likely to be adopted in the next few years. The event took place on Tuesday May 14th in collaboration with Diehl Metering and hosted by the Future Cities Catapult in London.
The event was our second in the field of smart water metering and follows a successful design sprint sponsored by South East Water exploring data call frequency and GDPR implications.
The event is an ideaLAB™ ; A proven one day event designed to bring together diverse communities to explore, discover and co-design forward thinking and innovative concepts.
Our goal is to help water companies and their supply chain better prepare for the coming challenge of developing strategy, policy and decisions regards how and what they will look for….

A summary of the event outcomes is available here:
The event was a great success and attracted over 80 guests and 11 water companies. Following the event we are developing an executive briefing on preferred models of deployment. there are opportunities to get involved in collaborations, and topical initiatives resulting from the programme. Further we are running more Futuresmart idealabs this year on specific aspects of realisation and deployment.
