Surrey County Council work with Kier Group and +ADD to 'rethink potholes!'
Repairing potholes and maintaining roads is a major draw on the the resources of Surrey County Council. Working with supply chain the highways team is determined to develop better road maintenance and resurfacing planning based on risk and intelligence with its current and new supply chain.
In 2017 KIER secured a four-year programme of £160m to provide road maintenance services for Surrey County Council. The scope of work includes highways maintenance and improvements and Kier has forged a strong working relationship with Surrey County Council over the past five years.
Both the Council and KIER recognise fresh thinking is required to help in developing a business case for earlier intervention on road defects that would otherwise develop into potholes.
As a result +ADD strategy have been asked to work with stakeholders and all/ any potential suppliers to explore what new technology, analytics, tools and methods could be used to reduce inefficiencies in the reporting and subsequent prioritisation processes?
A design sprint is set to be held in Dorking in June (18-20th). If you are interested in getting involved or would like to be considered as an exhibitor or participant please contact Hilary@addstrategy.co.uk for details click below.
